Adapting to Life as a veteran
After Founder, Matt Robidou's 6 year term as a Chinese linguist in the Marines, he had a new challenge ahead of him. What would his next chapter look like, and how could he use his passions to create a new life?
After losing several friends to alcohol, yet having lived a lifetime of believing the stereotypes and stigmas surrounding cannabis and hemp, he had to reckon with there being another reality. Could it be possible that we had been lied to about this plant medicine?

The Love and Loss of Starting a Family
In 2021, Matt and his wife Jackie learned that they were pregnant with their first child. Starting their family was a dream come true. They decided on the name Raiden.
Tragically, during his birth, there were complications that took his life. The pain of losing their first child felt unbearable, and the mourning process was – and still is – heavy. They vowed to carry on his legacy in all they did. Around the same time, Jackie was diagnosed with cancer, and their fears of losing their family became overwhelming.
With the love and support of her family, Jackie fought like hell and beat cancer. In 2023, their rainbow baby girl came earth-side, and their adventure of being full-time parents and entrepreneurs was in full swing.

The Quest To Understand
Between the loss of his son, and his wife's cancer diagnosis, Matt and his family were overwhelmed with grief, fear, and stress. Instead of turning to alcohol or other unhealthy coping mechanisms, he turned to C.Sativa to help.
It was at this time, that Matt discovered he had been wrong about the plant. He set off on a mission to understand and help others to discover it as well.
Matt was accepted into the Plant Science Program at the University of Minnesota. There, he dedicates his time to studying controlled environment agriculture with a focus on cannabis physiology. The research he is doing directly impacts the formulations of Raiden Labs products. He is set to graduate in the Spring of 2025.

Raiden Labs was formed from the wins, losses, pain, joy, and struggles of navigating life's toughest battles. It isn't just about creating a gummy or a thriving business.
Our mission is to support the tired parents, the burnt out professionals, and hard-working college students find their groove again. To give people options in their quest for fun, freedom, and relief.
Our company carries the name Raiden Labs to honor the first-born son who never had the chance to build his own legacy, and to remind us with every mention why we do this. Now we build it in his honor.
